i did the alcatraz tour once. it was fantastic. i also recommend a place called "the top of the mark" to eat. amazing food. awesome ambiance and jazz music.
I swear the schmucks and Quincy the Basset hound are related. They are both fat, cute and just love getting their belly warm in the sun. However, I don't know if the schmucks will hump my leg.
If you really want to tour a creepy, haunted one, you should check out Mansfield Prison in Mansfield, OH. It's where they filmed The Shawshank Redeption. It's supposedly haunted by inmates.
I used to live around the corner from Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. It was built in 1829, closed in the 1970s, and is the oldest penitentiary in the country. You can take a Haunted Halloween tour of the place that'll scare you silly. Eastern State, too, supposedly is haunted. Al Capone once slept there, though against his will. If you saw the Brad Pitt movie "Twelve Monkeys," then you know what the inside looks like.
thinkin of coming out there in the fall for a short vacation. The airfare is pretty cheap right now. It depends if me and travelin man decide to go to Belgium for Tour de France......
