Church of My Poisoned Mind

Recently I started subscribing to AOLs Music Net, the paid service to download music...I have spent a bunch of time downloading every song I have ever listened to in my whole life.
There is a particular group I was into back in the late 90s, but rarely told anyone.
Why?
Cuz its a Christian Band. An Indie-type Alternative Christian band.
Jars of Clay

I have to admit, they are actually pretty good...

So instead of letting this ruin my reputation as a sinner, I am going to see if I can get this to work for me, rather than against me.

See, I was raised Catholic. Forced to attend Catholic Elementary and High School.
Against my will...I like my freedom to have premarital sex and pop The Pill like candy, thank you very much......

So here is my plan. I need to set out to get in touch with Dan Haseltine, lead singer of Jars of Clay.

Because he is hot, and I want to date him. His voice is like heroin...I would love to scream, "Oh, my God" with him....I think if I hook up with him, God will look down and grace me for keeping good company.
He is my ticket into heaven...

One good cancels out one bad.

God, he's delicious....

Wow, I had no idea we were so alike!

I too liked Jars of Clay. I even have one of their CD's.

And I attended Catholic school from K through college (1st time round). But, be honest with me....don't you miss having a uniform? I mean, come on, we didn't have to piss around trying to figure out what to wear in the mornings b/c it was the same EVERYDAY. The only thing we had to do was accessorize. And accessorize we did!!

Strange we both had that experience! I tell ya, I think that is where I got most of my sense of humor! those damn nuns!

you are in OH, right? i bet that was fun, being catholic and a midwesterner!

Phats turned me onto Rascal Flats...never knew they had such pretty ballads...

and yes! Jars of Clay rocks! my faves are crazy times and flood...what about you??
but don't tell anyone...about the rascal flats....that will ruin my rep more than jars of clay!!!

ok, i just like you more each post i read. it's retarded. I TOO like jars of clay. they are great and i have a cd of there's too. I also like a christain band called switchfoot. they are one of my favorite bands period. you've probably heard the song "I dare you to move" on secular stations.

i grew up in a christain home. went to church every sunday until i moved out and now i go once in a while when i feel like it. i finally have peace with my relationship with god after years of it being forced on me. i like my church, i love my family, but i do what i want and go when i want. today....didn't feel like going. had a shower, put my pajamas back on and watched the movie Sideways.

Aw you're not such a bad egg.
I think the problem is that we both have the same dry wit. But you will never have a drier wit than an Irish man! You don't survive over here without it.
GT checking out, peace.

Good luck Jinxy! But if that doesn't work out, I think you can still get into heaven by screaming "oh my god" every once in a while.....right?

I'm pretty sure God would approve of your relationship and the movie Sideways. If that's the case, we'll all be in good shape.

Guilty.

That's right. I, too, was raised catholic.

Also liked that one hit Jars of Clay had. Played it often during my Top 40 DJ days in Greenville, SC.

I got my sense of humor naturally, but the sarcastic part came in high school when the boys thought it funny to pick on me. So, I did what normal teenagers did (instead of just poppin a cap in 'em), I started to use their tactics on them and it worked. They stopped bothering me b/c it wasn't fun anymore. I didn't get mad, I got even!!!

PS Heard on the radio that Jars of Clay are in concert near Akron either today or tomorrow....you MUST have ESPN!!

T. Leach, and Design that explains a lot about you both...

Maybe we should sit kneel and stand and genuflect on the catholic god for giving us a sense of humor like no other!!!
